The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in South Korea is planning to stabilize shopping cart prices by supplying up to 4,043 tons of government-stocked seafood, including pollock, mackerel, and squid, to traditional markets and hypermarkets from October 20 to November 16. Consumers will be able to purchase these seafood products at a discount of up to 30% during this period. The Ministry also plans to process and supply the government-stocked seafood in an easily cookable form for consumers. Additionally, in preparation for the winter kimchi season in November, the government plans to supply sun-dried salt to large marts and traditional markets.
