The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities in Malaysia is reviewing regulations related to palm kernel expellers to increase local supply for livestock feed and decrease reliance on imports. The minister, Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, stated that these expellers have a high nutrient content and are cost-effective. The ministry is also working to ensure a sufficient supply of rubber to meet domestic demands. The Agriculture Exco Joint Meeting saw the discussion of five papers covering various aspects of agriculture, including the National Agri-Commodity Policy 2021-2030, challenges in implementing the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil Certification scheme, and strategies for integrating the rubber plantation community. These meetings are held three times a year to discuss policies, planning, and incentives related to plantations.
