In its current forecast for the grain harvest in the EU-27+United Kingdom for 2025, COCERAL predicts a harvest of 300.7 million tons, which is 4.6 million tons more compared to the March forecast and over 20 million tons above last year's total volume. Wheat production is expected to reach 143.1 million tons compared to the 137.2 million tons forecast in March and 126.3 million tons last year, according to the agency. The increase in the latest forecast is mainly due to improved prospects in Southeast Europe, Spain, and France due to favorable climate conditions. Barley production in the EU-27+United Kingdom in 2025 will be slightly over 59.2 million tons, which is more than both the previous forecast (58.8 million tons in March) and the 57.1 million tons from the previous harvest.
