Huong Son district in Ha Tinh province has over 42,000 sika deer, with an estimated annual antler harvest of about 18 tons and an earning potential of 250 to 270 billion VND. Deer velvet is a key local product and is significant to the economy of the district and Vietnam as a whole. Farmers in the district are actively caring for the deer in preparation for the high-demand Tet season, with successful farmers earning several hundred million VND annually.
The district has seen significant economic growth from the deer products, with over 70% of the country's total deer herd being raised in Huong Son. The high-quality deer products have brought a stable, high income to the farmers, leading to plans for further improvement and increased value in the future.
