The Government disqualified one of the three competitors for the privatization of the Waterway, and only two companies - both from Belgium - remain in the race for a business that will leave them with revenues of about 15 billion dollars over the next 25 years and will allow them control of the main waterway of South America. As anticipated by Clarín, after an initial stage in which the presentations of the Belgians Jan De Nul and DEME and the Brazilian DTA Engenharia were analyzed, in which the operational records, technical and financial capacity, and the guarantees presented were evaluated, the Evaluation Commission determined that the South American firm had not met the conditions required in the specifications. Now, DEME and Jan de Nul will advance to the next stages of evaluation of the offers.
