The Malaysian Palm Oil Board has forecasted an improvement in palm oil demand this year due to hot weather, with prices expected to rise to RM3,800 to RM4,000 per tonne. The country's oil palm cultivation is, however, expected to be impacted by El Nino next year, potentially reducing crude palm oil production by up to 10%. Malaysia and Indonesia, the world's largest palm oil producers, will conduct a two-day joint mission to Brussels to appeal to the European Union to recognize their environmental efforts and prevent any discriminatory laws against the industry.
