The article reports on the performance of the hazelnut market in the initial months of the new season, as detailed by the Ordu Commodity Exchange. The exchange highlighted that 200 thousand tons of hazelnuts were sold in the market, with producers in Ordu contributing 54 thousand tons to this total. Other leading hazelnut-producing provinces in Turkey, such as Sakarya, Düzce, Giresun, Trabzon, and Samsun, also saw significant hazelnut sales. The Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry have predicted a total hazelnut yield of 765 thousand 287 tons for Turkey and 240 thousand 559 tons for Ordu for the 2022 harvest. The first two months of the season have already seen approximately 25% of this anticipated yield entered into the market.
