Import of cucumbers and gherkins in Poland: A lot of goods arrived from Russia from October to December

Recently, many people have been wondering and asking about the volume of cucumber imports from Russia. We decided to take a look at the statistics of the Central Statistical Office for the past year (2023). The data show that, in general, imports of cucumbers and gherkins from various directions took place in each month last year. The largest quantities of goods reached our market in the period January-March and October-December. In these months, we purchased more than 8,000 tons/month from other countries. The goods were supplied to us by Spain, Germany, Greece, Russia and other countries. The highest price is over PLN 10/kg (in February) and the lowest is approximately PLN 3/kg (in August). Spain delivered the most cucumbers to us in January (approx. 5,800 tons) - it is the leader in the supply scale, Germany in August (approx. 1,700 tons), Greece in December (approx. 2,400 tons), Russia in October (approx. 2,800 tons).
