In the first four months of 2021, Ukraine saw a significant shift in its cattle export market. While exports of frozen beef increased by 1.5% from the same period in the previous year, generating $25.6 million, the exports of fresh and chilled cattle meat saw a dramatic decrease, with revenue of only $100 thousand, a 95.4% drop compared to 2020. The primary markets for these exports were China, Belarus, and Azerbaijan for frozen beef, and Belarus for fresh and chilled cattle meat. Additionally, the cattle population in Ukraine decreased by 6.5% during this timeframe.
