In 2022, Alanya, the leading region in Turkey for avocado production, achieved 70 million avocados grown across 40,000 hectares, accounting for 70% of the nation's production. The local Avocado Producers Union targets to double these export numbers and increase production by 20 million avocados in 2023. Currently, 80% of the production is consumed domestically, while 20% is exported to eight countries. With plans to expand the production area and improve quality and packaging for export, the union anticipates reaching around 90 million avocados produced in 2023, aiming for exports worth around 30 million. Recent years have seen a significant increase in December's export figures, which are expected to double again in the next year.
