According to information from the Haikou Customs, in 2025, the import of coconuts at the Hainan Port increased by 17.3% year-on-year, ranking first in the country. Among these, coconuts imported from Indonesia totaled 516,000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 34.3%, accounting for 87.2% of the total import volume of coconuts at Hainan Port during the same period; imports from the Philippines and Thailand also saw significant increases of 67.1% and 43.3%, respectively. The "coconut route" from Palu Port in Indonesia to Yangpu Port in Hainan takes only 7 days, significantly reduced from the previous 20 days. Zheng Xinzhuang, the person in charge of customs clearance agency at Hainan Ruize Freight Company, said, "Now, from docking to raw material production, the fastest time is only 24 hours, making the coconuts fresher and the quality of the produced coconut juice more stable." In 2025, Hainan Port successfully achieved the first export of virgin coconut oil, which was sold to Malaysia, and local specialty products such as coconut juice, coconut cream, coconut milk, and coconut sugar also accelerated their entry into overseas markets.
