A consortium of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Energofish, and Czikkhalas Kft. has developed environmentally friendly fishing equipment and production technology for two native fish species at a project cost of over HUF 700 million. The project aimed to reduce the environmental impact of fishing by developing an eco-friendly alternative to lead used in fishing and improving the breeding technology for common crucian carp and broad crucian carp. The project, supported by HUF 480 million, was completed in February 2023.
