The Nizhny Novgorod Region's agricultural sector experienced significant growth from January-October 2024, as reported by Rosstat. The region produced 162.6 thousand tons of cattle and poultry for slaughter, marking a 12.6% increase from the previous year. This included a 15% rise in pig production, a 14% increase in poultry production, and a 4.8% increase in milk production. The average productivity of cows for milk production exceeded the 2023 figure by 7.5%. Additionally, egg production saw a slight increase of 0.9%, with the average productivity of laying hens increasing by 2%. The cattle herd also grew, as did the number of poultry, pigs, and other livestock.
