In August of this year, the volume of exports of Uzbek melon exceeded the total volume of shipments of these products in the previous three months, which was facilitated by a sharp reduction in the gap in wholesale prices for these products with last year’s levels and low prices, EastFruit analysts note. According to preliminary trade statistics, in August 2023, Uzbekistan exported 19.1 thousand tons of fresh melon for a total of $5.5 million, which in physical terms is 11.7% more than the total export volume in the previous three months - from the beginning of May to end of July this year. We remind you that the current export season of Uzbek melon started in the first ten days of May with the start of supplies of early varieties of melon to foreign markets. The volume of exports of Uzbek melon in August 2023 was also 7.2% higher compared to the same period last year.
