In Ukraine, the issuance of paper phytosanitary certificates for export to the EU is being discontinued.

To comply with the phytosanitary requirements of the European Union, from November 1, Ukraine will cease issuing phytosanitary certificates and re-export phytosanitary certificates in paper form for EU countries. This is reported by APK-Inform. "Exporters of regulated items who will be importing goods to EU countries will additionally be provided with the number and date of the issued electronic phytosanitary certificate (ePhyto)," the report adds. As explained, these changes are due to Ukraine's accession to the international centralized information system ePhyto HUB, which facilitates the exchange of phytosanitary certificates and re-export phytosanitary certificates. According to Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On Plant Quarantine," the originals of the phytosanitary certificate and the re-export phytosanitary certificate are issued by the state phytosanitary inspector: in paper form – if required by the phytosanitary measures of the destination country; in electronic form – ...
