The price of garlic in India has significantly dropped since February, creating new opportunities for the country's garlic exports. This follows a period of high prices due to poor weather and a decrease in planting area. The arrival of the first batch of garlic from Madhya Pradesh, India's largest garlic producer, signals the start of the garlic season. The price drop has led to optimism for export trade, particularly with major importers such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. Notably, garlic exports make up over 80% of India's total exports.
