PT Indonesia Trading Company (PT PPI), a state-owned trading firm, has shipped 100 tons of Robusta coffee worth US$1.2 million to Egypt, with plans to increase this to 200 tons for the rest of the year. The coffee is grown in the Lampung and South Sumatra regions and has been exported to Egypt since 2018, with the country currently importing around 54% of its coffee from Indonesia. The Trade Ministry is supporting synergy between farmers, exporters, and the government to increase the reach of farmer commodities in the international market.
