The Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Jan S. Maringka, visited the Maftahul Ullum Jatinom Islamic Boarding School in Blitar and expressed interest in the school's grape cultivation, suggesting the potential development of Indonesian wine. The school's caretaker, Gus Ahmad Khubby Ali Rahmat SAg.MSi, welcomed the idea, stating that wine is a source of pride for the school. The school has already started planting grapes, with the support of the Indonesian Wine Lovers Association (ASPAI), and plans to harvest 50-60 grape varieties in December 2023. The Head of the Blitar Regency Food Security and Agriculture Office, Wawan Widianto, praised the school's grape cultivation and stated that the Ministry will coordinate the development of grapes in other areas of Blitar.
