[Beekeeping and Fisheries Newspaper = Park Hyun-yeol · Kim Shin-ji Reporter] Recently, the conflict surrounding natural honey and commercial honey in the domestic beekeeping industry has intensified. This is due to the diversification of the food distribution structure and the increase in demand for processed and raw materials, which has led to a rise in the production of commercial honey, while the production base for natural honey is shrinking due to the effects of abnormal climate and a decrease in honey sources. Farmers of natural honey point out that the expansion of commercial honey distribution is lowering the image and consumer trust in honey, while commercial honey producers maintain the stance that, as it is a food recognized by the government, it should be distributed according to market principles. Amidst this controversy, there is a clear distinction between natural honey and commercial honey, and domestic honey.
