Between August 1 and September 12, 2021, Georgia exported 5.5 thousand tons of hazelnuts, generating revenue of $24.3 million, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture. This represents a 27% increase in volume compared to the same period in the previous year. The majority of these exports were received by European and neighboring countries, with Italy, Germany, and Spain being the leading importers. The hazelnut harvest for the year is projected to reach 65-70 thousand tons, with an estimated export value of $150 million.
