The Japanese government, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has provided over $1 million worth of sunflower and corn seeds to farmers in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. The seeds have been delivered to Ukrainian warehouses and will be available for farmers to apply for through the State Agrarian Register. In addition, Kharkiv National Agrarian University is set to establish an educational program for Ukrainian students, funded by Japan. The FAO in Ukraine has expressed its commitment to continuing support for Ukrainian agricultural producers. Meanwhile, the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development is soliciting quotations for the purchase of sunflower seeds and fertilizers, aiming to bolster food security in Ukraine.
