President Joko Widodo of Indonesia has announced the simultaneous release of agricultural exports worth Rp 7.29 trillion (approximately $511 million) from 17 airport and sea ports. The exports, totaling 627.4 million tons, include a variety of commodities such as agriculture products, food crops, horticulture, and livestock. The main destination countries are China, the United States, India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, England, Germany, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and 51 other countries. This initiative aims to boost Indonesia's agricultural sector, which saw a 15.79% increase in exports in 2020 compared to the previous year, and further improve farmers' welfare by enhancing agricultural technology, downstreaming, adding value, and mechanizing and promoting digital-based products.
