Peru: Junín farmers achieve better prices for their products with the support of Midagri

(Agraria.pe) The Sectoral Project Management Executing Unit (UEGPS) and the Project for the Improvement of the Agrarian Information System for Rural Development of Peru (Piader), both from the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), provided free assistance to more than 5,000 small and medium farmers in the poorest areas of Junín, thus improving their economic income. Most of the benefited farmers belong to the productive chains of potatoes, corn, cereals, guinea pig meat, maca and other quality Andean crops and products produced by the referred region in the center of the country. Thus, Midagri, in close alliance with private companies, provided information on agricultural services (market prices, prices of production inputs, climate forecasts, investment opportunities, among others), advice and useful assistance, for the taking of correct decisions in the production and marketing processes, adopt good practices and make the most of local, regional and national ...
