Junín. The National Forestry and Wildlife Service (Serfor) seized 10,479.17 board feet of wood in pieces of the species Camungo moena (Vochysia biloba), which were being transported without legal support. The intervention was carried out at the Forest and Wildlife Control Post of La Oroya, with the support of the Decentralized Environmental Protection Unit (UNIDPMA) of Junín of the PNP and under the knowledge of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office (FEMA) Junín. During the verification of the vehicle with license plates F8U-759 / D7D-986, the driver presented a forestry transport guide that did not correctly list the species being moved, which triggered an alert. Upon physically inspecting the cargo, the personnel of the Central Sierra Forestry and Wildlife Control and Supervision Unit of the Serfor confirmed that the 184 pieces, valued at S/41,916, corresponded to Camungo moena, a species not covered by the documentation presented.
