Kazakhstan aims to achieve self-sufficiency in apples by 2024, targeting a gross harvest of 352.5 thousand tons. To enhance horticulture development, the nation seeks to increase exports, particularly to Uzbekistan, which has under-met domestic apple demands. However, issues such as excessive paperwork, customs duties, and other fees from Uzbekistan hinder exports, leading to a decrease in export value and volume in 2022. Kazakhstan is negotiating with Uzbekistan to equalize export-import conditions to facilitate smoother trade.
