Kazakhstan's flour exports increased by 4% in volume but decreased by 15% in value. From January to April 2023, production was 1.1 million tons, down 4.9% from the previous year. Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, and Shymkent were the top production regions, contributing 54.7% of the total. Local companies supplied 97.1% of the demand, with imports rising to 22.4 thousand tons. Exports grew by 3.9% to 471.6 thousand tons, mainly to CIS countries and Afghanistan, while domestic sales dropped by 5.3%. Flour prices increased by 0.8% monthly and 5.9% annually, with the highest rise in Almaty and the lowest in North Kazakhstan.
