Kiwi production presents adequate sprouting

According to the Economic Bulletin released by Emater/RS-Ascar last Thursday (2), the kiwi orchards in the administrative region of Caxias do Sul have presented adequate, uniform, and healthy sprouting, in addition to a satisfactory number of inflorescences, which indicates the possibility of a good fruit load. So far, the crop has not presented any relevant phytosanitary problems, and most producers have not yet applied fungicides and insecticides. Emater/RS-Ascar highlights that research bodies and public and private institutions have been encouraging the resumption of kiwi production, as it is a significant source of income on the properties, since the crop can reach up to 20 t/ha. In the previous crop (2024/2025), the average production was 11 t/ha, and the prices practiced were around R$ 6.00/kg, remaining stable due to the constant demand for the product.
