More than 200 inhabitants of the province of Santiago de Chuco will benefit from the improvement of the Púrpuro Viscachas Añilbamba irrigation canal, a project promoted by the Regional Government of La Libertad. The project will be executed in the district of Mollepata and will allow the irrigation of more than 215 hectares of crops, contributing to strengthening family agriculture and improving the productivity of farmers in the area. The initiative is part of the Public Investment Project called "Improvement of the irrigation water supply service in the Púrpuro Viscachas Añilbamba canal." According to agricultural producers in the sector, heavy rains and the passage of time have significantly deteriorated this canal, which is more than 18.30 kilometers long and has sections of land that affect irrigation efficiency.
