Land for date palm cultivation put on hold in Kuwait

The Jahra Committee in the Municipal Council, during its meeting yesterday chaired by Abdullah Al-Enezi, rejected the request to allocate the Al-Darkal site for the two residential cities of South Al-Mutla’a and Nawaf Al-Ahmad, reports Al-Anba daily. Al-Enezi said the Municipal Council member Eng Alia Al-Farsi’s proposal to allocate land for date palm cultivation in the north of the country has been referred to the executive body for its technical opinion and coordinate with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fisheries Resources. Al-Enezi added the committee returned the request of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to move the site of the Ibn Taymiyyah Mosque in the Sulaibiya area, Plot 1, to the executive body, and it also returned to the body the proposal submitted by member Abdullah Al-Anzi regarding traffic congestion in the city of Sa’ad Al-Abdullah, in order to update the response.
