Brandenburg's grain cultivation area has seen a minor decrease, totaling 497,700 hectares for the 2021 harvest, with a 1% drop from the previous year. Despite this, there has been a notable 26% expansion in the cultivation of oats, now covering 22,300 hectares. However, there's a decline in the cultivation of spring wheat, triticale, and potato by 40%, 4%, and nearly 4%, respectively. The cultivation of winter barley and field peas has seen an increase of 2% and 10%, respectively, while the cultivation of sweet lupins has decreased by 17%.
