In 2024, Egypt will conduct its third national campaign of the year to vaccinate livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever across all governorates. This initiative is led by Dr. Mamtaz Shaheen, Head of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, aiming to preserve livestock health, ensure food safety for citizens, and achieve food security. The campaign is part of the authority's efforts to protect livestock from diseases that can impact productivity. All necessary resources, including vaccines and equipment, are in place to carry out the campaign successfully. Breeders will also be educated on the importance of livestock numbering, registration, and tracking vaccination records.
