Livestock slaughter declined on an annual basis in the first quarter A total of 23,000 cattle were slaughtered in the first three months of the year, a 1.2 percent drop, and 1,115 million pigs, down 8.2 percent from a year earlier. 46.3 million pieces of poultry were slaughtered in the first quarter of 2022, 18.5 percent less than in the base period. In three months, the slaughtered carcass weight was 6,000 tons of cattle, 107,000 tons of pigs and almost 109,000 tons of poultry. The proportion of chickens in the group of poultry is 86 percent.
