The Comptroller General of the Republic identified irregularities in the management of forest exploitation in the Madre de Dios region, where officials from the Regional Forestry and Wildlife Management authorized the improper movement of more than 1900 cubic meters of wood using documentation that did not comply with current regulations. This allowed the improper movement of wood valued at approximately S/889,000, causing a serious impact on the National Forest Heritage. According to the Control Audit Report No. 20758-2025-CG/GRMD-AC, corresponding to the period from September 10, 2020, to April 13, 2024, it was identified that between the years 2020 and 2023, Intermediate Forest Management Plans (PMFI) were approved with inaccurate information, volumes exceeding those requested, and wood transfers that exceeded what was authorized.
