This Wednesday (20), the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) published the result of the selection notice for the Bioeconomy and Value Chains project. The initiative is intended to offer technical assistance services to family farming cooperatives and associations located in the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas and Pará, which act primarily in the cocoa, açaí, Brazil nuts and of the management pirarucu, as well as other products of Amazonian socio-biodiversity. The eight selected collective enterprises will receive, until December 2023, access to technical and/or specialized consultancy services compatible with their demands, keeping the focus on strengthening production combined with the sustainable use of natural resources. Strengthening the management and marketing structures of cooperatives and associations of local communities, expanding the marketing of their products in priority value chains, promoting key strategies that combine production and conservation of natural resources, building a sustainable and inclusive bioeconomy for the Amazon, and generating income for family farmers.
