The article reports a significant increase in the purchase and selling prices of live pigs, pork, beef, poultry (broiler chickens, turkeys, and broiler ducks) in Poland during the week of February 6-12, 2023, compared to the previous week, month, and year. Specifically, live pigs fetched 7% more than the previous week and month, and 90% more than the previous year. Pork selling prices increased by 6% from the previous week and 2% from the previous month. Beef livestock purchase prices rose by 1% from the previous week, 0.4% from the previous month, and 12% from the previous year. Selling prices of beef saw a slight fluctuation but were 9% higher than the same week of 2022. Poultry purchase prices also experienced increases, with broiler chickens being 24% higher than the previous year, turkeys 35% higher, and broiler ducks 22.5% higher. Selling prices of poultry meat, such as carcasses of gutted chickens and turkey carcasses, also surged, with chicken carcasses being 13% more expensive than last year and turkey carcasses 28% more expensive.
