Purchase prices of live pigs On the domestic market on March 6–12, 2023, the purchase price of pigs (data from the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) was PLN 8.22/kg, i.e. PLN 0.04/kg lower than last week. Livestock was 4% more expensive than a month earlier and 33% more than a year ago. On average in the EU within a week, class E slaughter pigs increased by 0.6% to EUR 228.63/100 kg of chilled slaughter weight. The price of this livestock was 8% higher than a month ago and 42% higher than last year. In Poland, this class of slaughter pigs was paid EUR 229.62/100 kg, which is 0.4% more than the EU average.

Lower than in Poland prices of live pigs were observed, among others, in in the Netherlands by EUR 20.45/100 kg, and higher e.g. in France by EUR 8.38/100 kg, Germany by EUR 7.94/100 kg and Spain by EUR 4.11/100 kg.
