The data recently published by Chinese Customs shows another month of significant volume in August imported, almost 270 thousand tons of meat, just 10% less than what was imported in July of this year However, in terms of prices, the trends are not so auspicious. August imports, with an average value of USD 5,231 per ton, mark the third consecutive month of decline after having attempted a beginning of recovery in May that finally failed to sustain itself and ended deepening the fall to about 26 percentage points, measured against that peak recorded in July 2022 of USD 7,100 per ton.
