In Kırıkkale, Turkey, farmers are attempting to increase their income by planting medicinal and aromatic plants such as safflower, coriander, and lavender across approximately 11 thousand decares of land. The Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Sırrı Yılmaz, mentioned that they have both demonstration plots and farmer-based plantings for these medicinal aromatic plants, and that there is no market issue for these products. The directorate is supporting the farmers with a 50% grant to establish a processing plant and providing other forms of support. Farmers like Ufuk Karabay from Sulubuk village are trying these crops for the first time and are satisfied with the results, despite the drought this year.
