The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of Peru has set the reference prices and additional variable duties for imports of corn, sugar, rice, and whole milk powder. The approval, detailed in Vice-Ministerial Resolution No. 016-2024-EF/15.01, published in El Peruano on August 27, specifies that corn will have a reference price of $184 per metric ton with an additional variable duty of $1 per MT. Sugar import's reference price is set at $553 per MT with no additional variable duty. Rice imports will have a reference price of $792 per MT, with additional variable duties of $77 for paddy rice and $110 for milled rice. Lastly, whole milk powder imports will have a reference price of $3,439 per MT and an additional variable duty payment of $197.
