Rains negatively affect melon supply in the São Francisco Valley, Brazil

This week (11/28 to 12/02), yellow melon appreciated in the São Francisco Valley (BA/PE). The variety sold in bulk closed the week with an average price of R$ 1.13/kg, an increase of 32%. This increase in prices is due to the great restriction of supply in the region in the period, since high volumes of rain caused a significant part of the production to be lost.
