In 2022, Mercosur countries achieved historic beef export volumes, with a total of 3.4 million tons, a 16.4% increase from 2021, and a 69% increase compared to 5 years ago. The report highlights Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay's growth in beef exports, while Uruguay's slightly decreased. China was the main external destination for these exports, accounting for 55% of the average volume from 2019 to 2021. The growth in China's beef imports, which has seen a significant increase in consumption, has played a crucial role in the rise in Mercosur beef exports.
