Minas Gerais: sanitary break for beans lasts until October 20

According to data from the Minas Gerais State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa), beans continue to be one of the main agricultural products of the state, with more than 476 thousand tons produced until September 2025. The cultivation, which sustains families and drives the economy, includes protection measures coordinated by the Minas Gerais Institute of Livestock (IMA). These actions include the sanitary break and the registration of producers, which aim to preserve productivity and protect the crops. The sanitary break occurs from September 20 to October 20 and aims to control the whitefly, an insect that transmits the golden mosaic virus, one of the most harmful diseases to the bean crop.
