REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman revealed the existence of 250 tons of illegal imported rice entering from Sabang, Aceh. Amran asserted that the Indonesian government has already stopped importing rice. "We received a report around 02.00 WIB that 250 tons of rice entered without permission from the center," said Amran at his residence, Sunday (23/11/2025). Amran said that after receiving the report, he immediately contacted law enforcement and security personnel. Authorities have already sealed the storage place of the rice. Currently, only two-thirds of the total rice is in the storage, while the remaining one-third is still on the ship. "Clearly, if the Commander-in-Chief, the President, has conveyed that there should be no imports because our rice stocks are high, then all Indonesian people, let alone officials and employees throughout Indonesia, must obey the Commander-in-Chief, the President's, order," said Amran.
