The Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry in Indonesia is planning to build a production house in the South Minahasa District of North Sulawesi to process coconut products. The ministry aims to manage the production house through cooperatives to provide added value to farmers and accelerate the downstreaming of coconut products. The house will be initially managed in South Minahasa, but there are plans to expand it to other regions. The production house will process coconuts into value-added products such as virgin coconut oil, coir, cocofiber, cocopeat, and coconut shell briquettes, creating economic opportunities for local farmers and MSMEs.
