Morocco has seen a surge in lettuce exports to France and the UK, with volumes to France reaching a record high in the first quarter of this year, and exports to the UK resuming after a three-year break. This shift is part of Morocco's strategy to diversify its horticultural exports, following a significant decrease in exports to Russia. France, a major global importer of lettuce, is now the fifth largest source of Moroccan lettuce exports to the French market. The UK, which previously imported significant amounts of Moroccan lettuce, is expected to continue to grow its imports.
