Most dairy quotations down with Global Dairy Trade sharply lower

The quotation for whole milk powder at the Dutch quotations is 10 euros lower this week at 322 euros. The price for fresh butter also drops slightly, by 3 euros to 437 euros. Both the quotation for skimmed milk powder for consumption purposes and for animal feed purposes fell by 4 euros. They come to 219 euros and 211 euros respectively. For the often less volatile whey powder there was a slight increase this week from 1 euro to 54 euro. The biweekly New Zealand Global Dairy Trade shows a significant decline. This is an important auction recognized as a good representation of global market sentiment. The average price of dairy products on Tuesday's GDT trading platform was 7.4 percent lower. Two weeks earlier, the trade already showed a drop of 4.3 percent. The price index thus drops from 918 points to 850 points.
