Nestlé took action: another batch of baby formula has been recalled

The recall came despite analyst expectations that the Swiss group would not need to withdraw additional products from the market. The cereulid, which can cause nausea and vomiting, was found in ingredients from a Chinese supplier, affecting several infant formula manufacturers, including Nestlé, Danone, and Lactalis. The discovery triggered recalls and concern among parents in dozens of countries. In light of the EU's more advanced analysis method, and continuing to apply our strict internal standards for cereulid levels, we are adding a few more items to the original recall in some European countries - stated Nestlé in its announcement. The company did not disclose how many countries the latest recall affects, but emphasized that no additional countries were involved. The original recall affected about 60 countries, mainly in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
