REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The government is strengthening control over the conversion of rice field land use through the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 59 of 2019 which is now Perpres Number 4 of 2026. After the first meeting held in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/10/2026), Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid explained, the latest regulation which governs the formation of an integrated team is intended to ensure the control of land use conversion runs effectively, particularly for rice fields included in the Sustainable Food Agriculture Land (LP2B) map. From the first meeting held together with the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah, and Deputy Minister of Environment Diaz Hendropriyono, Nusron said there were two decisions made.
