Turkey: Niğde Potato Research Institute increased production capacity with soilless farming system

Niğde Potato Research Institute, which introduced local potato varieties to the country's agriculture, increased its production capacity with the soilless agriculture system it implemented in the greenhouses it established. Niğde Potato Research Institute provides higher yields with potato seeds grown in air and water. The institute, which produces 5-6 seeds from a plant when produced in soil, which is the classical method, increased this number to 50-150 with the soilless agriculture system. The institute, which has reached a capacity of 2 million mini tubers with the soilless system in the fully controlled greenhouses they have established, produces seeds for 12 months.
