The Nigerian health authority has approved the import of live cattle and buffaloes for reproduction, as well as milk and dairy products from Brazil. This decision comes after Nigeria imported over US$875 million in Brazilian agribusiness products in 2023. The move is expected to provide opportunities for Nigerian producers and boost Brazil's trading partnerships in Africa. Since 2023, Brazil has opened or expanded access to 149 new markets in 52 countries, including Nigeria, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
